The Gardiner Public Library plans to be open to the public from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturdays, beginning Jan. 8.
“Saturdays are such an important day for the library to be open for the community. It’s a great day for us to connect with our community and also for them to stop for a visit and pick up the resources they need. We’re all so excited to open back up on Saturdays in 2022,” said Library Director Justin Hoenke in a news release.
The children’s room is open by appointment only, including Saturdays starting Jan. 8. Call 207-582-3312 to set up an appointment.
Per guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, masks are recommended for all library visitors. Fully vaccinated library visitors may choose to wear a mask in the library building.
Both the front and rear entrances are open.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
