Amid all the hand-wringing about Joe Manchin causing the defeat of Build Back Better — President Biden’s bill to help so many people — let’s not lose sight of the fact that the only reason that Manchin’s vote is so crucial is that not one Republican senator is supporting it.

Lots of the same Republican senators had no difficulty adding $3 trillion to the deficit by voting for Trump’s tax cuts for the rich.
