George Ernest Pratt
PLEASANT RIDGE PLANTATION – George Ernest Pratt, 91, passed away on Dec. 29, 2021 in his home of 73 years on Pleasant Ridge Plantation. He was born on April 13, 1930 in Moscow. He was the son of Daniel and Erna (Emery) Pratt.
George is survived by his wife, Phyllis Pratt; his daughters Darlene Paine and Elaine Philbrook; grandchildren Randi Paine and her husband Chris Pupke, Dustin Paine, Brittany Rumery and husband
Ben Rumery, Kyle Philbrook; great-grandson, Benson Rumery; brother, Wallace Pratt, brother-in-law, Dennis Rollins; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Mardel Pratt and wife Gloria, sister, Barbara Petly and husband Charles, sister, Marjorie Adams and husband Clayton, and sister-in-law, Claire Pratt.
George, worked at Quimby Veneer Mill in Bingham most of his life until the mill closed in 1974. He continued to work until retirement for GE at their radar site in Moscow and their sites in
California and Oregon.
George enjoyed traveling with his wife, Phyllis, with their pickup truck and camper. He also took pleasure in cruises to the Caribbean and Alaska. He spent many wonderful summers at his camp on
Embden Lake. He enjoyed building with wood, big projects and small. He loved all things outdoors from hunting, fishing, hiking or a leisurely drive.
George will be remembered by family and friends for his positive personality, willingness to help, love of people and their stories, and genuine love for life. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure to know him.
There will be a graveside service in the Spring of 2022.
