
Leland “Skip” Kittle
FALMOUTH – Leland “Skip” Kittle died after a long illness on Jan. 3, 2022, with his loving partner Sara by his side. Heartfelt appreciation for the special care he received at the end of his life, by the staff at Sedgewood Commons in Falmouth Maine. He was born in Columbia Cross Road, PA, the son of Ward and Lois Kittle. After Skip graduated from Troy High School, he enlisted in the United States Army and served for four years. After relocating to the state of Maine he was employed by Hammond Tractor for many years until his retirement.
Skip was a dedicated member of the Albion’s Lions Club and was a Mason. He enjoyed playing golf with friends on most of Maine’s golf courses. In his retirement, Skip loved birdwatching, woodworking and restoring antique cars. Despite his quiet and calming nature he had a great sense of humor and giving nature.
He is survived by his soulmate, Sara with whom he shared the last 25 years of his life with and his two children, his son Jasonn Bob Kittle and daughter Andrea Pickering. Skip is also survived by his brother, Harry Kittle and wife Sarah, and his sister Wilma Young; his stepson Daniel Sylvester and wife Stephanie; his stepdaughter, Erin Goesmann and husband Joshua; and granddaughters Claire Goesmann and Annabel Sylvester. Skip’s favorite sisters-in-law are Jane, Sue and Donna Kittle. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and many good friends.
Skip was predeceased by his parents and brothers Duane, Bill, Donald, and Gary Kittle.
A memorial service will be held in Skip’s honor at the Veteran’s cemetery in Augusta, Maine this spring under the direction of Veilleux and Redington Funeral Home, http://www.VeilleuxFuneralHome.com.
