Rose M. Blair

AUGUSTA – Rose M. Blair 91, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Jan. 6, 2022, at Augusta Center for Health and Rehabilitation with her family by her side.Rose was born July 2, 1930, in Gardiner, Maine to Henry and Amy Louise Belrose. She was raised in Chelsea, Maine and attended Chelsea one room schoolhouse then received her GED from Cony High School. Rose was employed at Health Tex in Gardiner for many years. Later she went on to receive her accreditation as a CNA. She began her job as a CNA at the Augusta State Hospital in Augusta. In 1988, she started working at the new Alzheimer’s Clinic in Gardiner. Rose retired from the clinic in 1998. Rose love working with her patients and making a difference in helping people.Rose was a vibrant, genuine and caring person, who had a passion for life and loved the lord with all of her heart. Rose enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren, camping at her camp in North New Portland, mountain climbing, canoeing and hunting. She loved animals and especially her dog Goldie. Her passion was for Her Lord and reading his word every day. She was a force and we all loved her for it.Rose was predeceased in death by her parents Henry and Amy Louise Belrose, and her husband Edward Blair.She is survived by her daughter Joyce St. Amand of Chelsea, Maine; a brother Henry Belrose and wife Edith, of Shapleigh, Maine; two grandson’s Michael St. Amand and wife Billie-Jo, of Gardiner, Maine, Jason St. Amand and wife Nicole, of Atlanta, Georgia; four great grandchildren, Cody and his fiancé Alanna, Cera, Bryce and Gabrielle, and great-great grandson Greyson.The family would like to express our thanks for the outstanding care and compassion given by Augusta Rehabilitation and their Hospice team.A celebration of life will be held at Fellowship Baptist Church at 237 Eastern Ave, Augusta, Maine on Feb. 26, 2022, at 1pm. Committal service will be held at the old Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta in the Spring.Arrangements are entrusted with Staples Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner, Maine.
