Dolores Yannelli

SIDNEY – Dolores Yannelli, 77, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022, at the Maine Medical Center in Portland following a brief illness where she was surrounded by family. She was born in Newark, NJ on April 16, 1944, a daughter of the late Ralph and Angelina (Piazza) Sobreira.

Mrs. Yannelli was a graduate of Bloomfield High School. She was a very talented self-taught crafter who was self-employed for many years under the name of Country Wood n’ Stuff.

She was predeceased by her brother, Ralph Sobreira, sister, Marie Bolland; and a great-grandson, Jesse Tillson.

Mrs. Yannelli is survived by her husband of 59 years, Ronald J. Yannelli of Sidney; sister, Barbara Jean Banks of Irvington, NJ; two daughters, Dana Yannelli and her husband Bruce Plourd of Sidney, and Dineen Yannelli of Middletown, NJ; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren who brought incredible joy to her life; along with nieces, nephews, and cousins

There will be no public visiting hours. A memorial service will be held on Friday, Feb. 11 at 2 p.m. at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta. Burial will be held at a later date. A Celebration of life will be held later this summer.

In honor of Dolores and her three great-grandchildren, whom she spent countless days and hours with, watching them graduate from their feeding tubes to passing car seat tests and everything in between during their NICU stays, the family is asking that donations be made to Maine Medical Center’s Barbara Bush NICU
