
Theodore Everett Hardy Jr.
LINCOLN CITY, Ore. – Born and raised in Maine, Theodore Everett Hardy Jr. passed away peacefully in Lincoln City, Ore. Jan. 2, 2022 at the age of 83 after recently moving to the west coast to be closer to family.Ted was born in Waterville, Maine March 7, 1938 to parents Theodore Everett Hardy and Doris Wright Hardy. Ted joined the Coast Guard in 1955 and served until 1978. This included a tour in Vietnam 1966-1967. Ted earned several medals including five conduct awards, Vietnam service medal, Vietnam campaign medal, and National Defense service. He retired Senior Chief Petty Officer E8.After retirement, Ted joined the Winslow Police Department for 20 years with titles of officer, detective and drug enforcement officer. He was a wonderful, proud and humble man that loved radio controlled planes and boats, had fun driving motorcycles and of course owned pretty much nothing but Volkswagen his entire life.Ted was preceded by his beloved wife and soulmate of 54 years Rachel Mae Hardy in 2012. They were each others first loves and had a wonderful life together.Ted is survived by his daughter Beth Towers, husband John Towers and grandchildren Julia and Janelle of Oregon; daughter Leanne Gonzalez, husband Orlando Gonzalez and grandchildren April and Cece of Florida; son Bruce Hardy of California; brother John Drury Hardy of California and sister Elizabeth George-Hussey of New Hampshire. Ted also has several great-grandchildren. Memorial and burial information will be given at a later date.
