LEWISTON — SeniorsPlus plans to offer a tai chi workshop for adults interested in learning how to prevent falls and relieve arthritic pain.
Tai Chi for Health and Balance is set for 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, through Thursday, April 14, in the Education Center at SeniorsPlus at 8 Falcon Road.
Tai Chi for Health and Balance is an exercise program for improving health and well-being, proven to help prevent falls and relieve pain for those living with arthritis, according to a news release from the agency. Participants focus on improving strength, balance and mental health.
This low-impact exercise is performed in slow, fluid movements that are easy on the joints and can be done either sitting or standing.
The 10-week class costs $20 per person. This workshop is open to the public. For questions and to register, call 800-620-6036 or email [email protected].
