River Arts in Damariscotta kicks off the summer season with their annual blockbuster “Members’ Show”. The work of 136 artists fills the gallery with a dazzling array of original art. This salon-style exhibition is sure to impress. The public is invited to meet the artists and view their artwork at an opening reception is set for 1-4 p.m. Saturday, May 25.
With artists from all corners of Maine exhibiting work in this show, the display is wide reaching and diverse. Artists have selected pieces that best represent their personal approach. This year’s show presents a bounty of new work from Maine artists capturing the heartbeat of the contemporary Maine art scene. Works on display include paintings, sculpture, pastel, ceramics, original print making, wood, glass, fiber and photography.
“Members’ Show” runs through Saturday, June 29.
In conjunction with the opening in the main gallery “New Work: Greto-Brunner and LeVasseur” continues in the the River Room featuring Mary Greto-Brunner and Joel LeVasseur through May 29.
River Arts is located at 36 Elm St. in Damariscotta.
Regular gallery hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday.
