SIDNEY — Maine Arts Academy plans to hold open houses for prospective students on the following dates:
• Wednesday, Feb. 16, at 4 p.m.
• Thursday, March 24, at 5 p.m.
• Tuesday, April 12, at 5 p.m.
• Monday, May 9, at 5 p.m.
• Sunday, May 22, at 2 p.m.
Students will have an opportunity to learn about this free public high school for the arts and to tour the lakeside campus at 11 Goldenrod Lane, according to a news release.
The academy has students from approximately 80 communities this year. It offers transportation to a number of bus hubs.
Students can immerse themselves in the arts and excel in education at the academy. They can take arts classes such as Play Writing, Directing, Music in Media, Chorus, Book to Stage, Music Theory, Audio Engineering, Piano, Guitar, Sample Dance, Hip Hop, and Film Genre & Theory.
