The Lincoln County Democratic Committee plans to host events Saturday, Feb. 19, in Damariscotta and Boothbay to collect voter signatures for Democratic candidates running for governor, the state legislature, district attorney, sheriff, and other offices.
Participants can talk with candidates, sign up to support their campaigns and join local town committees, according to a news release from the committee.
Those seeking elected office in Maine are required to collect a requisite number of signatures from registered voters who are enrolled in the candidate’s party to qualify for the June ballot.
Democratic candidates and volunteers will collect signatures from Lincoln County registered Democrats from 10 a.m. to noon at Great Salt Bay Community School, 559 Main St., Damariscotta, and from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the American Legion, 25 Industrial Park Road, Boothbay.
Voter registration information will be available for those who need it. Masking is required.
Questions can be directed to [email protected]. Voters can verify their voter registration by calling their town office.
Town office phone numbers can be found at tinyurl.com/findmevoter.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
