Rita A. Rodrigue

AUGUSTA – Rita A. Rodrigue, 89, of Townsend Street and formerly of Windy Street, died Feb. 7, 2022 at Oak Grove Center, Waterville after a brief illness. She was born in Augusta, on Dec. 13, 1932, the daughter of Arsene Rodrigue and Rose (Tardif) Rodrigue.

Prior to her retirement, Rita worked at Sears Roebuck store as a catalog department clerk for many years.

She was a member of St. Michael Parish at St. Augustine Church; she was a driver for Meals on Wheels at Senior Spectrum; member of the Ladies of St. Anne Society, helped at the soup kitchen in Hallowell, Augusta Food Bank, member of The Marian Movements for Priests, Rosary Makers of Mary Immaculate and an honorary member of Sacred Heart Ladies Guild in Hallowell.

Rita was predeceased by her parents; a brother, Norman Rodrigue and three sisters, Clemente Gaboury, Lucienne Dostie and Lillian Martin.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews, Steven Martin, Kenneth Martin, Linda Leet, Paul Gaboury, Susan Dostie, Richard Gaboury, Ricky Rodrigue, Gail Theberge, Annette Cromwell; and close friends Donna Michaud and Ann McCaslin.

There are no planned visiting hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at a later date at St. Augustine Church, Augusta. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery, Augusta.
