Mark J. Smith

AUGUSTA – Mark J. Smith, 56, died unexpectedly Friday, Feb. 18, 2022, at his home. He was born in Augusta on Nov. 18, 1965, a son of Stanley H. and Theresa M. (LaCroix) Smith.Mark was a graduate of Cony High School, class of 1984.He had worked at the family service station, Bangor Street Exxon for many years. Most recently, he was employed by Paul Blouin Performance in Augusta. He previously worked at NRF Distributors and Darlings in Augusta.Mark was predeceased by his father, Stanley H. Smith. He is survived by his mother, Theresa M. (LaCroix) Smith of Augusta; his daughter, Miranda M. Gilley of Searsport; his brother, Randall H. Smith of Augusta; three sisters, Darlene M. Banks, Donna T. Fairfield and Nancy A. Winter, all of Augusta; two grandchildren, Jace Short and Rayna Short; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.There will be no public visiting hours. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 2 at 11 a.m. at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta.
