AUGUSTA – Jeannette B. Libby, 89, died peacefully at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Nursing Care Center at Gray Birch on Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2022, surrounded by family and friends. Jeannette was born in Waterville on April 20, 1932, a daughter of the late Irene (Cote) Violette.She was raised and attended schools in Augusta. As a young adult she worked in cotton mills and shoe shops in the area. She enjoyed her dancing club, knitting, playing cards and having a good belly laugh with family and friends.Jeannette was predeceased by her mother Irene; and siblings Dorothy Cote, Patrick, and CecileMercier.She is survived by her children Cecile (Cec) and George Smith of Winthrop, Cecil and Kummie Bell of Clarksville, Tenn., Debra Rogers and Paul Brooks of Oakland, Lance Rogers and Mary Simpkins of Columbia City, Ind., Kiradwen and Lori Libby of Mars Hill; along with nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.The family would like to thank the entire staff of Gray Birch Nursing Home for the loving,supportive, compassionate and professional care they provided during our hours of need. Thewonderful team includes the administration, nursing, dietary, housekeeping, activities, therapyand support staff, along with the entire team of Maine General Hospice.There will be no public visiting hours or funeral service.
