Anita M. Allarie
HALLOWELL – Anita M. Allarie, 86, formerly of Augusta, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022, at the Woodlands Senior Living in Hallowell after a brief illness. She was born in Augusta on March 11, 1935, the daughter of William T. and Alma (Jolicoeur) Gagne. Anita was a 1953 graduate of Cony High School of Augusta.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the Augusta Civic Center for several years. She was previously employed by Maine Education Association for 23 years, and by Central Maine Power Co. for six years.
Anita was a member of St. Michael Parish at St. Augustine Catholic Church where she was a former lector, member of the Ladies of St. Anne Society, member and former Trustee of St. Agnes Circle Daughters of Isabella, and a member of Cushnoc Senior Citizens.
Surviving are three sons, Scott Allarie of Winthrop, Steven Allarie of Winthrop and Craig Allarie of Belgrade; one brother, Roger Gagne and his wife Rose of Exeter, N.H.; four grandchildren, Connor, Kadance, Isabella and Liam; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
At her request, there will be no public visiting hours. A graveside service will be held in the spring in Holy Family Cemetery, Augusta.
