WINTHROP – Betty J. Harris, 93, of Winthrop passed away at Maine General Medical Center on March 10, 2022 after a brief illness. She was born in Madison, Maine to her parents Alonzo and Laura (Holt) Parlin on April 27, 1928. Betty graduated from New Sharon High School and attended Gates Business School in Augusta. In 1949, she married Erwyn D. Harris in Farmington Falls and they were married 41 years until Erwyn’s death. She worked many years for the Internal Revenue Service and the Veterans Administration at Togus.She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Erwyn, and her brothers Kenneth and Clarence Parlin, and her sisters Lila Locke and Lucille Henderson. She is survived by her daughter Susan Rosell and husband Mark Tobkin of Winthrop, her daughter Roxie Crowe and her husband David of Franklin, Tennessee, her son Mark of Windsor, and her former daughter in-law Dawna Harris of Farmingdale. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Erin Harrington and her husband Trevor of Farmington, Becky Burgess and her husband Jeromie of Franklin, Tennessee, Alexandra Crowe of Franklin, Tennessee, Richard Crowe and his wife Ashley of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, Chris Harris of Winthrop, Cory Harris of Winthrop, Dana Cameron and his wife Crystal of Mt. Vernon, David Cameron of Winthrop, and Ryan Cameron of Readfield and her great grandchildren Kelton Grubbs and Camden Crowe of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, and Mason and Aria Burgess of Franklin, Tennessee.Mom enjoyed going out for rides around town and to New Hampshire, reading, watching CNN on television, and especially time with all her family. She enjoyed traveling in her younger years, and traveled to California, Washington, Florida, Tennessee, Michigan, Minnesota and to Canada, Europe, and Mexico. She brought several of her grandchildren to Florida. She was fortunate enough to reside in her own home almost to the end with the support of her family especially her daughter Susan and her grandsons Chris and Cory.At the request of Mom, there will not be a funeral. There will be a private grave side service in the spring at Glenside Cemetery in Winthrop.Arrangements are in the care of Roberts Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 62 Bowdoin Street, Winthrop where memories and condolences may be shared with the family at http://www.khrfuneralhomes.com.
