AUGUSTA — Three Massachusetts men were being held at the Kennebec County jail Wednesday following their arrest Tuesday on drug and gun charges, police said.
Around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, officers from the Augusta Police Department, the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at the Comfort Inn at 281 Civic Center Drive.
In connection with that warrant, three men were arrested.
Patrick W. Denis, 26, was arrested on two counts of unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs, a Class B crime, and criminal forfeiture.
Khail T. Newson, 26, was arrested on a change of unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs, a Class B, and criminal forfeiture.
Charles Phillips, 34, was arrested on a charge of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
All three men were scheduled for initial appearances at the Capital Judicial Center in Augusta. Denis is being held on $6,000 bail. Newson and Phillips are each being held on $5,000 bail.
The three remained at the jail.
