The spring preseason is underway with pitchers and catchers reporting to practices around the state. Skowhegan baseball and softball players were in the gym Friday working out. The River Hawks softball team hosts Hampden Academy at 3 p.m., April 19 in their opener, while the baseball team will travel to Hampden also for a 3 p.m., game that same day. The Winthrop softball team opens their season at home against Madison at 4 p.m., April 20.
