RANGELEY — The Church of the Good Shepherd plans to host a Ukrainian Easter egg decorating workshop, led by Pam Ellis, at 11 a.m. on Palm Sunday, April 10.
The workshop will be held in the Undercroft, at 2614 Main St. There is no fee, and adults and children 10 and older are welcome.
The eggs are decorated using a wax-resist technique and simple tools. Ellis will show samples and give a demonstration, and then everyone will have four eggs to practice and create on.
Ellis continues this tradition from her mother’s ancestors, the Petrochko family, who came to America from the western part of Ukraine in the early 1900s.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
