Donald N. Spagnuolo
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Donald N. Spagnuolo, 87, died peacefully in his home in North Myrtle Beach, S.C., on March 11, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was born Dec. 25, 1934, in Burlington, Vt. to Irene and Federico Spagnuolo.
Don retired in 1990 from executive service in the U.S. Treasury Dept., and he was a retired major in the U.S. Air National Guard, serving his country for many years in Vermont, Texas and Maine. He moved with his wife and children many times, residing in nine states, seeking opportunity and adventure.
Don loved movies, took part in local issues, operated a Pennsylvania bed-and-breakfast with his wife, dabbled in woodworking, and hunted for antiques. He retired to the Tidewater community on the Carolina coast, where he was an avid golfer and tennis player.
He is survived by his siblings Kenneth Spagnuolo, Virginia Bordeaux and Sylvia O’Neil; his seven children, Anthony (and Denise) Spagnuolo, John Spagnuolo, Lisa Spagnuolo, Pam Spagnuolo Burhns, Peter (and Amy) Spagnuolo, April Spagnuolo and Jennifer Spagnuolo (and Raj Chawla), who reside in seven states from Maine to Florida. He had 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; two of his grandchildren predecease him.
He was predeceased by his siblings Ramona O’Sullivan, Gloria French and Alfred Sande. Don’s first wife of 43 years, Marylou (Killary) Spagnuolo, died in 1999.
