Richard McKenney Sr.

AUGUSTA – Richard McKenney Sr., 83, passed away on April 3, 2022, with his loving family at his side.

He worked many years at Lipman’s and Statler Tissue. He was married to his loving wife Alice for 35 years.

Richard enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, barbeques, going to the coast, time on the boat, eating out at restaurants, watching sports and spending time with his cat. Richard also enjoyed spending time with his friend and beloved Pastor Shane Stoops fishing, going out to breakfast and many house visits.

The family would like to extend special thanks to all of Pastor Shane’s family for all they have done.

Richard was predeceased by his parents Margaret and Max McKenney; loving wife Alice McKenney; brother Norman McKenney; and stepdaughter Michelle Hamel. He is survived by his sons Richard McKenney Jr, Michael McKenney and wife Tracy, stepdaughter Lisa Sparrow and her boyfriend Ray Holman, stepson John Carey and his girlfriend Mary Haskell, stepdaughter Lori Mairs and husband Scott; brothers Alton McKenney and wife Mary, Herbert McKenney; nieces and nephews; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 2 p.m. at the First Pentecostal Church of Augusta, 15 Wilson St, Augusta, Maine with a reception to follow. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
