Gage Boudreau of Benton, a senior at Lawrence High School in Fairfield, has been selected to receive the 2022 Principal’s Award, according to a news release from Principal Dan Bowers.
The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic achievement and citizenship.
“Throughout his years at Lawrence High School, Gage has distinguished himself in the classroom, on the playing field, and as a leader in the school and the community,” Bowers noted in making the award.
Boudreau, Bowers and other award winners and their principals were due April 1 to participate in a live virtual scholarship drawing. Ten $1,000 scholarships were to be drawn in the names of former Maine principals and MPA Executive Directors: Horace O. McGowan, Richard W. Tyler, and Richard A. Durost.
The Principal’s Award is presented in more than 100 Maine public and private high schools by member principals of the MPA, the professional association which represents Maine’s school administrators.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
