Augusta’s Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce’s monthly Business After Hours is scheduled to be hosted by Spectrum Generations from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, at the Cohen Community Center, 22 Town Farm Road Hallowell.
The free event is open to chamber members and invited guests.
Spectrum Generations started after Congress passed its first federal initiative to provide comprehensive services for older adults, The Older Americans Act, according to a news release from the chamber.
From there, Spectrum Generations — or Central Senior Citizen’s Association, as it was named in 1972 — started to provide transportation and takeout meals. Then, in the first comprehensive Meals on Wheels program, the program evolved to give seminars, help at home, socialization, and caregiver support.
The chamber organizes free monthly networking receptions for members by pairing with member businesses. Every Business After Hours is an opportunity to network, win door prizes, and participate in the 50/50 raffle.
Hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be available. Business After Hours is sponsored by Bangor Savings Bank, Buoy Local, and Cross Insurance.
To RSVP for Business After Hours, visit kennebecvalleychamber.com or contact the chamber at [email protected] or 207-623-4559.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
