WISCASSET — The Maine Art Gallery seeks submissions until Saturday, May 7, for its Members Show, scheduled to run June 4-25.
Works will be exhibited in the Maine Art Gallery’s historic Old Academy Building at 15 Warren St., in Wiscasset. Artists who are not currently members may join for $30.
The show’s juror, Sam Cady, is looking for three main criteria: original voice, skilled and/or unique use of materials, and personal meaning in the work, according to a news release from the gallery.
Each artist can submit up to three works of art, which must be the artist’s original work created within the last three years. Any work that has been previously exhibited at the Maine Art Gallery is not eligible. Giclees and other reproductions are not eligible.
The entry fee for the show is $15.
The Maine Art Gallery is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the advancement and preservation of the visual, fine and applied arts through exhibitions, lectures, demonstration and educational programs for children and adults since 1958.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way.
