FAIRFIELD — Two men were arrested Saturday after police executed a drug search warrant at an apartment on Kelley Street in Fairfield, according to officials.
Officers from the Fairfield Police Department and Maine State Police searched the apartment as part of an ongoing investigation into suspected drug trafficking at the location, according to statement issued Sunday by Fairfield police.
Justin E. Meserve, 39, of Winslow was charged with unlawful possession of a scheduled drug, and Jason A. Michaud, 55, of Fairfield with aggravated trafficking of a scheduled drug.
Meserve and Michaud were being held Sunday at Somerset County Jail in Madison. Meserve’s bail was set at $1,000 and Michaud’s at $10,000 cash.
Police said Michaud’s high bail was based on “an aggravating charge that stems from the close proximity of the residence to two different schools.”
Casey Dugas, public information officer for Fairfield police, declined to comment Sunday on what was found during the search.
