Marylin “Jean” Daigle
MADISON – Marylin “Jean” Daigle passed away peacefully on April 3, 2022 at her home following a brief illness being cared for by her nephew Edward and sister Starla. Jean was born on August 5, 1940 in Madison, the daughter of Joseph and Arlene “Harvell” Vigue.
Jean attended school in Madison and on July 18, 1959, was married to the love of her life James “Jimmy” Daigle for 57 years. Jean worked at Laurel plastics in Madison and Reny’s Department Store.
Jean enjoyed many activities including crocheting and knitting, sewing, spending time with her family and friends and decorating her home inside and out but her favorite pastime was shopping. Jean love to shop!
Jean is survived by her family, four nieces Mary Fletcher and husband David of Anson, Holly Eggleston and husband Scott of Madison, Lisa Gordon and partner Torrance of Holiday, Fla., Jessica Laney and wife April of Windham, five nephews Edward R Cowan and life partner Scott Veilleux of Fayette, Jeremy Vigue and wife Kim of Oakland, Scott Fortin and Katy of Madison, Seath Fortin and Joyce of Madison; two sisters Cheryl A Croteau and husband Mike of Standish, Starla Fortin and husband Lee of Madison, one brother Roger Vigue of Madison; and many great and great great nieces and nephews; two goddaughters Allison “Green” Daigle and husband Mike a Framingham, Mass., Ciera “Williams” Bennett and husband Jeffrey of Holiday, Fla.
Jean was predeceased by her husband James; her parents; two sisters-in-law Linda Vigue and Jeanette Daigle, one brother-in-law Gerald Daigle; two nephews Mike and Luke Daigle; and a very special friend Blair Herring.
A big thank you to Beacon Hospice for helping nephew Edward keep Jean at her residence until she was called home to the Lord.
At Marylin’s request, a graveside service will be held on Monday, May 9, 2022 at 9:15 a.m. at Saint Sebastian Cemetery in Madison.
