An exhibit of art created by members of the Spindleworks Art Studio is on display at the Maine Art Gallery through Saturday, May 28, at 15 Warren St. in Wiscasset.
Called “Time Shift,” the show includes works by more than 40 artists from the Midcoast area who work collaboratively on a wide variety of creative pursuits, including painting, pottery, weaving, music and memoir writing, according to a news release from the gallery.
Gallery hours are from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
As part of the Independence Association of Brunswick, Spindleworks provides studio space and mentors for adults with a desire to express themselves through art.
In a talk at the gallery on May 14, Wiscasset artists Lidia Woofenden and Anna McDougal discussed their work and what it means to them.
The exhibit is sponsored by the Maine Arts Commission, Les Fossel Restoration, and Sherri Dunbar of Tim Dunham Realty.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
