The experienced and talented Dan Shagoury is running to represent House District 55 (Hallowell, Manchester, West Gardiner) in the Legislature. I can attest to Dan’s many capabilities because our paths have crisscrossed often over the past two decades.

In the early 2000s, we served together on the (then) Hall-Dale school board. Thoughtful and hardworking, Dan knew how to balance the needs of students, teachers, parents, and taxpayers. During Dan’s 19 years as a legislative staff person, I would ask him for advice when I was at the State House on business. He was always helpful, and I observed that he was highly esteemed by legislators.

With Dan’s recent retirement, he has plenty of time he could devote to the Legislature. With his intimate knowledge of legislative processes, he could start on day one. I hope Democrats from House District 55 will join me in voting for Dan on June 14.
