A Farmington event celebrating LGBTQ+ Pride is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, June 25, at Meetinghouse Park beside the courthouses on Main Street.
This event is family friendly and open to all. Acceptance and education are the number one game changers for queer people in rural America, according to a news release from the Farmington Pride Board of Directors.
The event will include live music as well as drag performances by gender artists from all across Maine.
There will be speeches from local and state leaders along with food and item vendors around the park.
The event includes a harm reduction table to assist those struggling and a queer education table to help people better understand the community.
Tickets can be purchased for raffle items and gift cards donations from local businesses at the Farmington Pride table to bid and help raise money for next year’s Pride event.
The Board of Directors for Farmington Pride can emailed at [email protected] for those who have any clarifying questions.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
