WISCASSET — The Maine Art Gallery’s second show of the season, the Juried Members Show, is scheduled to open Saturday, June 4, with a reception beginning at 4 p.m., at 15 Warren St.
Singer/songwriter Jud Caswell will provide music until 7 p.m.
The wide-ranging exhibit will continue through June 25.
Hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
Juror Sam Cady has chosen 53 artists who will exhibit 98 works of art expressing a range that includes abstraction, a strong sense of materials, and representations of moods and ideas. The final selections include paintings, sculpture, textiles, printmaking and photography, with imagery ranging from typical Maine subject matter to more personal explorations of a theme, according to a news release from the gallery.
In its focused effort to support member artists, a second (non-juried) members show will be presented in September.
Season sponsors include Sherri Dunbar of Tim Dunham Realty, Les Fossel Restoration Resources, and the Maine Arts Commission.
