VASSALBORO — Two people were taken to a hospital by ambulance after a two-vehicle crash last week on Riverside Drive when a vehicle failed to yield to another, the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.
Kennebec County sheriff’s Lt. Chris Read said in an email that the crash occurred Thursday morning when a 2019 Volkswagen Jetta driven by Blake Potter, 27, of Vassalboro, was traveling north on Riverside Drive and approaching Oak Grove Road.
A 2019 Buick Encore driven by Amberjean Waterhouse, 36, of Vassalboro, on Oak Grove Road failed to yield at the intersection with Riverside Drive and pulled into the path of the Jetta, Read said.
Both Potter and Waterhouse were transported to a hospital, Read said, and the extent of their injuries was not known.
The sheriff’s office had initially reported that Potter drove into the path of the Encore before correcting itself Wednesday.
