The Sisters of St. Joseph of Lyon plan to hold a guided retreat on Saturday, June 18, at the St. Joseph Center, 80 Garland Road in Winslow.
The retreat aims to help participants enrich their own spirituality while learning about the charism of the sisters, according to a news release from the Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland.
A “Trinitarian Love” summer retreat will be offered from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Lunch and beverages will be provided.
The retreat will include personal prayer and group sharing.
Sr. Janet Gagnon, a spiritual director with decades of experience in teaching and parish ministry, will lead the retreat.
A graduate of Saint Joseph’s College of Maine, she has served as regional director for the Office of Catechetics in the Diocese of Portland, in congregation leadership as provincial and general superior, and as a session leader at the congregation’s international center.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
