Reprise Choral Ensemble is set to perform a program, Side by Side, at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 12, at Green Street United Methodist Church at 13 Green St., in Augusta.
The singers, directed by Mary Rector and with collaborative pianist Beth Schiller, will perform old and new poetry set to music by old and new composers.
Included on the program are two choral settings each of William Shakespeare, nursery rhymes, Robert Frost and Edna St. Vincent Millay. Composers include George Shearing, Matthew Harris, Benjamin Britten and Maine’s Colin Britt, according to a news release from the ensemble.
The concert is open to the public. Because of COVID conditions, masks and immunizations are recommended.
The suggested donation is $15 for adults and $10 for students.
Proceeds are donated to individuals or organizations involved in the visual or performing arts in Central Maine.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
