WILTON – James passed away after an extended illness on May 19, 2022, at his daughter’s home in Wilton with his family by his side.Survivors include his wife, Rosalie (Rowe) Bacon, his six children: Linda (Dick) Quimby, Norridgewock; Jim Bacon and partner, Stephanie Connolly, Mercer; Blaine (Sandy) Bacon, Skowhegan; Beth (James Smith) Hartsock, Wilton, Daniel Bacon, Lincoln, Ill.; Betsy (Everett Spaulding) Richard, Wilton; 19 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, three sisters: Josephine (Myron) Smith of Oakland, Georgia Pooler of Paris, Tenn., and Janiece Oblak of Swathmore, Pa., and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.Funeral services will be held at the Mercer Union Meeting House on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2022 at 10 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life Reception at the home of Linda Quimby in Norridgewock. Interment will be at the Northern Maine Veterans’ Cemetery in Caribou on Monday, Aug. 8, 2022.
