Celebration Barn is set to present Dean Evans’s Magical Exploding Mime at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at 190 Stock Farm Road in South Paris.
This wordless, action-packed show is geared toward all ages.
According to a news release from the barn, creator and performer Evans reaches beyond the limits of language to playfully turn the conventions of mime and clown on their heads. Evans morphs through a series of alter egos, fantastical eccentric forces, and disagreeable inanimate objects. From a child with mind control powers, to an amoeba struggling for life, to a cosmonaut cast helplessly adrift in outer space, this show presents original narrative with physical precision and deep feeling.
Through expert visual storytelling, Magical Exploding Mime transcends the need for speech altogether.
Limited tickets to Magical Exploding Mime are available for $20 for adults, $15 for those 65 and older, and $10 for those 17 and younger. Tickets are general admission.
The lobby and concessions open at 7 p.m. Purchasing tickets in advance is strongly recommended.
All patrons ages 5 and older attending a show at Celebration Barn must present proof of full vaccination against COVID-19. Adults are also required to show a matching photo ID.
A booster shot, while recommended by the CDC, is not required in order to attend a show at this time. Attendees 4 and younger who are not yet eligible for vaccination are only required to wear a mask.
