FARMINGTON — Four 2022 high school graduates have been awarded $500 scholarships each by the Franklin Memorial Hospital Medical Staff Scholarship Program.
All awardees demonstrated academic excellence, a strong motivation to pursue a health care career, and dedication to community service in their applications, according to a news release from the hospital.
The awardees and their intended area of study and career aspirations are as follows.
• Christy-Lynn Beaudoin, who graduated from Spruce Mountain High School in Jay, plans to attend the University of Maine to major in biology with the goal of becoming a clinical laboratory scientist.
• Grace Bell, who graduated from Mt. Blue High School in Farmington, plans to attend the University of Vermont to major in biochemistry with the goal of becoming a physician.
• Leah Gilbert, who graduated from Spruce Mountain High School in Jay, plans to attend Providence College in Rhode Island to major in biology with the goal of becoming a physician assistant.
• Lily Emerson, who graduated from Rangeley Lakes Regional School, plans to attend Plymouth State College with the goal of becoming a registered nurse.
