Lithgow Library’s summer concert series sponsored by The Friends of Lithgow Library returns. Free concerts are set for 6:30 p.m. Monday through July on the library’s front lawn, 45 Winthrop St in Augusta. In case of rain, concerts will move into the Library Community Meeting Room.

The Blenders will perform July 17. The band is a Maine based musical trio founded on a mutual love of vocal harmony. Jonah Howard (vocals and guitar), Karen Biser (vocals and guitar) and Erik Glockler (vocals and bass) joined together from various backgrounds to make a nice blend of voices and musical styles.

Marc Black will present Boppa Chua! a history of the 1950s and 60s through popular song on July 24.

Marc Black, NY Blues Hall of Fame inductee, will be your guide for a trip through those colorful decades,  woven together in song. From bobby socks, through the space race, and on to civil rights and classic rock, audiences have found this show to be entertaining, inspirational and even a bit educational. Songs as diverse as Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka-dot Bikini and Blowin’ in the Wind lead to spontaneous singing springing up all around the audience.

Dunlap Highland Band  is set for July 13.

Founded in 1994, the Dunlap Highland Band is Maine’s longest-running community pipe band. The Dunlap Highland Band is an active parade band, performing at events throughout northern New England.
