WINSLOW — A climate garden party is planned for Saturday, Aug. 13, rain or shine, at at Simply Grande Gardens, home to Peter Garrett and Jean Ann Pollard, 202 Eames Road. A 10 a.m. arrival is scheduled in time for conversations. The party will be held under the tent; bring a folding chair if available, according to a news release from Garrett.
Speakers will begin at 11 a.m. This year they are Peter Dugas who will explain MIT’s En-ROADS climate policy inquiry, and Peter Fiekowsky will will talk about his recently published “Climate Restoration.” A time for questions will follow.
Lunch will run from noon to 1 p.m. It is potluck, but don’t fell obliged, come anyway. After lunch, there will be time to wander around the gardens and stroll down to the brook that flows over waterfalls behind the house. There also will be a chance to check in the woods looking for mushrooms and tour the passive Solar Home, one of the first to be built in the 1980s. Attendees also can visit Jean Ann’s nearby studio to see her Gaia Series paintings.
