South Bristol artist Sally Loughridge returns this year to show recent original land and seascape paintings into September at Archipelago art and craft gallery, the Island Institute’s store, at 386 Main St., in Rockland.
A retired psychologist and year-round resident of Maine for more than 23 years, Loughridge never tires of the state’s natural beauty, rhythms, and mystery, which inspire her respect and stir her senses and emotions. This resonance and connection with nature, says the artist, is “both an exhilarating and steadying element in these challenging times,” according to a news release from Loughridge.
Loughridge has exhibited her artwork for many years at Archipelago, home to unique original art, craft, and design representing the very best of Maine’s islands and coast.
Gallery hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
She also exhibits extensively throughout the MidCoast in galleries and juried or invitational shows. For more information about her artwork, the show or Archipelago, call 207-596-0701.
