Cynthia M. Magee
READFIELD – Cynthia M. Magee died Feb. 6, 2022, in Venice, Fla., peacefully in her sleep. She was born in Albany, N.Y. on Dec. 2, 1936, the daughter of Victor and Alice (Zaloga) Carrara.
Cynthia relocated to Boston as a child. She graduated from Hyde Park High School in 1954. Cynthia graduated from Boston Clerical School, earning placement into the National Honor Society.
Cynthia was married to Harold “Jake” Magee on Dec. 31, 1957. While raising three sons, she also lived briefly in Natick, Mass. before moving to Readfield in 1978. Maine was her home. Cynthia retired from Maine State Corporations Division in Augusta.
Cynthia lived in Granby, Colo. for a short time before moving to Venice, Fla. in 2021.
Cynthia was an avid quilter, sewing fanatic and reader. She was a member of the Pine Tree Quilters Guild and The Crazy Quilters group, amongst others, making quilts for charity. She was a Red Hat Lady for many years and a regular volunteer at the Readfield library.
Cynthia was predeceased by her parents; her brother, Victor Carrara; and her beloved husband, Jake.
There are no planned visiting hours.
Burial will be at the Augusta Veterans Cemetery, 163 Mount Vernon Rd., section B, row 23, #7, on Aug. 29, at 1 p.m., sharp.
