Q&A
1) Define what “success” would look like if you are elected to serve your district.
To me, “success” means continuing to listen and addressing the concerns of my neighbors. I have worked diligently to address major concerns like PFAS contamination and the possible closure of the Shawmut Dam that would have devastating economic impacts on our town.
Success also means continuing to work across party lines and to support sound policies that make life easier, not harder for Mainers.
The greatest “success” extends far beyond the walls of the State House. It is using all resources available to help people navigate issues they face in their daily lives. I have helped individuals locate available addiction recovery programs and I have assisted small businesses through the permitting process allowing them to open sooner.
I will continue to work hard on the issues we face and earn the support of the people of Skowhegan.
2) Characterize your view on public access to governmental business.
I’m a strong supporter of transparency in government and making it more accessible to citizens. It’s important to have a greater level of public participation in their governmental process. I support hybrid models that allow both in person and virtual participation in meetings. Let’s make it easier for our citizens to participate, not put obstacles in their way.
