Congratulations Mr. LePage! You have not offered another set of standards. You have avoided cluttering up the plan with facts or professional input (“LePage unveils proposed plan to topple Maine’s ‘woke’ education system,” Sept. 19).

Your political acumen shines through in his focus on school choice and parents. And you keep banging on that sex thing — you sure know how to blow a dog whistle! And the after-school child care may get a vote or two from the child care lobby, assuming they are as gullible as you may think …

I am wondering how your plan is going to fix the “basics.” Is it as simple as getting all those middle-class kids out of the public schools with their vouchers? Or is it not allowing teachers to clutter up the day with all that sex stuff? Or taking away money?

In fairness, more of the same old story from the Democrats would not be welcome either.
