Blacke Ladd

MERCER – Blacke Ladd, 76, of Mercer, passed away on Sept. 28, 2022 in Madison. He was born on Oct. 30, 1945, a son of Frank and Marion (Soule) Ladd of Mercer.

Blacke worked for Lucas Tree for 24 years, and as a steel worker in Tennessee for six. He also worked on the farm.

He was predeceased by his parents; and wife, Maude; his brothers Jack, Frank Jr., Oliver, brother-in-law, Larry Libby, sister, Linda Ladd, sister-in-law, Shirley Ladd; nephews Alan and Todd Ladd.

He is survived by his brother, Stubby Ladd and his sisters Ada Stein and Betty Libby and sister-in-law, Orva Ladd; nephews Jeffery, Jonathan, Dougie Ladd, Robert Ladd and wife, Dana Libby, Kenneth McIver; nieces Debbie Ladd, Faye Noble, Malinda Libby; great-nieces Jasmine Noble, Trinity McIver, Ivy McIver, great-nephews Pheonix McIver, Matthiew McIver.

Graveside service will be held in East Mercer Cemetery on Oct. 15 at 11 a.m., and Celebration of life at Stubby Ladd’s house, 359 Weeks Mills Rd., in New Sharon.
