Nicholas McKechnie of Durham has completed an oil technician training class and graduated from the Maine Energy Marketers Association (MEMA) Technical Education Center’s full-semester HVAC Program in Brunswick.
McKechnie, a member of the Skowhegan Area High School class of 2008, has resided in Durham for seven years.
He has accepted a job with Mechanical Services Inc., handling commercial HVAC services.
The center is owned and operated by more than 300 Maine and New England member companies who help to design educational programs, donate equipment, and hire graduates from the school they themselves fund. That means that almost all MTEC graduates get hired upon graduation, according to a news release from Nicholas Scarfo, MEMA marketing and communications coordinator.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
