People of all ages who appreciate a creepy Halloween activity can participate this month in haunted tours.
The tours are scheduled for 4:30-8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 28 and 29, at the Pownalborough Court House, 23 Courthouse Road in Dresden.
Participants can experience a tour of the haunted court house and cemetery with hauntings provided by people portraying the ghosts of Pownalborough’s past.
An outdoor fire with seating will allow guests to enjoy the grounds before or after their tour, according to a news release from Christine Hopf-Lovette of the Lincoln County Historical Association.
Tours will begin every 15 minutes and be limited to eight individuals. The floors in this 18th century building are uneven, and there will be stairs to climb.
A printed or digital ticket is required for admittance. Admission costs $15 for adults and $5 for children younger than 16.
Tickets must be purchased in advance online at lincolncountyhistory.org.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
