Mildred “Mickey” Gregor
MANCHESTER – Mildred “Mickey” Gregor, 87, of Manchester passed away in her sleep after a battle with cancer on Oct. 15, 2022 at Northern Light Continuing Care (Lakewood) in Waterville, Maine.
Mickey was born in Readfield to Bessey Martin and Gilbert Armstrong on March 28, 1935. She attended Manchester Primary School and Cony High School. She married the love of her life, John Christian Gregor, on Oct. 26, 1955, in the town of Chelsea. Mickey worked her whole life in the hospitality business. She spent 21 years working at White Cloud Laundry on Bridge St and another 20 years working at Days Inn on Western Avenue in Augusta.
Mickey enjoyed reading, doing diamond dot art and watching a good old western. Mickey was an avid Red Sox fan who rarely missed a game. You could ask her anything about the Red Sox and she would be able to tell you all you wanted to know. Mickey had two poodle dogs, Billy the Bandit and Miss Missy whom she loved with all her heart. In 2016, Mickey moved into Lindenbrook Park in Manchester, Maine. There she met many dear friends.
Mildred was predeceased by her husband, John C. Gregor who passed away in 2005.
She is survived by her sister in laws, Christine and Mildred “Millie” and brother in laws, George and Jeff. Her children: Tom Gregor and his wife, Claudette of West Gardiner, Randy Gregor and his wife, Irene of West Gardiner, Terry Gregor and his wife Cara of Winthrop, Kimberly Gregor of Skowhegan, Darrel Gregor and his wife, Crystal of Livermore Falls and Dale Gregor and his wife, Tammy of Monmouth. She had 18 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
A private burial for immediate family is planned for November 5. A celebration of life is planned for Sunday, November 6, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m., at the Manchester Lions Club in Manchester, Maine.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. We would like to thank the staff at Beacon Hospice and the staff at Lakewood for their loving, kind and compassionate care that they gave to Mickey in her final days.
