Dean M. Standish

SLIDELL, La. – Dean M. Standish, 59, died peacefully of natural causes in his home on Oct. 10, 2022. Dean was born on May 23, 1963 in Augusta.

Dean was a born again Christian and enjoyed sharing his faith with whomever he could. He enjoyed listening to Christian music. Dean was a “jack of all trades” and was excellent at doing auto mechanics, computer, carpentry, construction, and many more skills. Dean liked helping people, especially family and friends. He was a very hard worker. He also liked the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, hiking and wildlife. Dean really loved people and talking on the phone for hours. He was compassionate, loving and caring.

Dean was a long-time employee of Uncle Henry’s doing graphic design. He suffered from chronic pain and underwent multiple surgeries making it impossible for him to hold a steady job.

Dean was predeceased by his mother, Beverly Perkins Tripp of Farmingdale, father, Robert Standish of Slidell, La.; and oldest brother, David Standish of Sausalito, Calif. (missing since 2015).

He is survived by his son, Zachary Standish and wife, Jessica of Parkman; sister, Debra Nickerson and husband, Tom of Palermo, brother, Daniel Standish and his wife, Cherry of Slidell, La, sister, Darlene Cuevas and her husband, Clyde of Slidell, La., brother, Darrell Standish and his wife, Rhonda of Mt. Vernon, sister, Dawn Doak and her husband, Toby of Whitefield, brother, Dwayne Standish and his wife, Terrie of Winthrop, sister, Dianne Davis and her husband, Terry of Maricopa, Ariz., brother, Darren Standish of Farmingdale, and stepbrother, Jeffrey Cuevas of Newfield; aunts, uncle; nieces, nephews; cousins; and many friends.

The family would like to share some interesting facts. Dean was one of 10 children, died on 10/10 at 10:10 and lived on lot number 10. On his headstone the scripture Romans 10:10, will be engraved.

Dean will be sadly missed by all who knew him and will be lovingly remembered.

There will be a service here in Maine to be announced in the Spring or Summer of 2023.
