We urge citizens of Winthrop and Readfield to re-elect Rep. Tavis Hasenfus. Tavis represented our interests extremely well in his first term in the Legislature. COVID restrictions hampered all legislators’ ability to collaborate. Nevertheless Tavis sponsored many pieces of legislation including prime sponsorship of bills protecting water quality in our lakes, accessibility of court records, family care of aging adults, vehicle safety, and doctor licensure. Four of his five prime-sponsor bills passed into law, three unanimously and all with bipartisan support. This demonstrates his ability to work with people from across the range of political viewpoints.

Tavis also has a long history of community involvement and volunteer activities beginning as a teenager in Winthrop, and continuing as a community-minded adult. His accomplishments in the Legislature and our communities show he has the energy, intelligence, and character to represent everyone’s best interests.
