AUGUSTA – Claire R. Caret, 90, died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022, at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta following a brief illness. She was born in Canada on April 30, 1932, a daughter of the late Joseph E. and Rachel (Veilleux) Poulin.
Mrs. Caret was a graduate of Cony High School and became a Nurse after graduating from Central Maine General School of Nursing.
She was a nurse for many years. She then became a Realtor and Insurance Agent, working for herself for over 30 years.
Mrs. Caret was a communicant of St. Augustine Catholic Church.
She was predeceased by her husband, Emile P. Caret, a brother and two sisters.
Mrs. Caret is survived by her daughters: Cheryl C. Caret of Cocoa Beach, Fla., and Deborah M. Hillier of Ormand Beach, Fla.; a son, David M. Caret of Elma, Wash.; five grandchildren: Sarah, Amari, Alyssa, Abel and Paul, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends may visit on Friday, Nov. 4, from 2-4 p.m., at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 5, at 11 a.m., at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Northern Ave., Augusta. Burial and committal prayers will follow in Holy Family Cemetery, Townsend Road, Augusta.
