Eilene “Tinker” Jeanette Lorraine Labonte
AUGUSTA – Eilene “Tinker” Jeanette Lorraine Labonte, 60, went home to be with her Lord and Savior unexpectedly on Oct. 29, 2022. She was born on April 6, 1962, the daughter of Royal Wilson Burnham of Leeds, and Jeanette Loraine (Smith) Burnham Brann of Augusta.
Eilene attended schools in Somerville, Belfast, Waterville, and Augusta where she worked to receive her GED.
Eilene’s hobbies included; spending time with her husband, precious daughter, and family. Taking road trips and overnights with her sisters, and going around to vineyards throughout Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. Eilene also loved lawn sales, and antiquing! If you knew Eilene, then you knew which vehicle to use (a big one), and always prayed everything would fit in the car, especially if it was your car and you wanted to buy something. Eilene had an incredible zest for cooking, if there was a recipe she mastered it. Eilene’s real joy came from raising her daughter Amanda or spending time with her baby sister and best friend Cora “Amy” Lane.
Eilene loved people, she always took her co-workers, nieces, and nephews under her wing and made them feel like they were her favorite. Always putting others first.
On July 24, 1999, she married her forever love Normand Labonte, and was married for over 23 years before he passed three weeks prior to her on October 12.
Eilene worked for many years as a manager at McDonald’s in Augusta, where she met and fell in love with many people, who adopted her as “mom”. Eilene was also a full-time caregiver to her daughter.
Eilene is predeceased by her beloved husband, Normand Labonte, her parents, her daughter Kristy Brann and son inlaw Robert Brann, two sisters; Faith Brann and Charity Burnham and one brother; Matthew Burnham, Sr.
Eilene is survived by her daughter, the joy of her heart Amanda Jeanette Lorraine Labonte, and her Fiance Zac Wentzel of Augusta; her three sisters: Hope Ellis and husband Daniel of Hartland, Patience Eaton and Husband Jeff of Washington and Cora “Amy” Lane of Winslow; her two brothers: Mark Burnham of Orlando, Fla., and John Burnham of Orlando, Fla. Eilene is also survived by her grandsons: Garen Wentzel and Robert Brann, Jr., granddaughters: Robin Jones and Kayla Olcott as well as five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews whom she adored.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
